High Energy Recipes

High carb recipes for increased energy.

If you want more energy you need to have the correct nutrition. Below are 3 recipes to help increase you energy levels, they are high in healthy carbohydrates.

Rice cake cereal snack
Serves 2
4 multi-grain rice cakes
1/2 cup raisins
1 1/3 skim, or soy milk

In a cereal bowl, crumble 2 rice cakes.
Addhalf of the raisins and half of the milk.
Stir and serve.
Repeat with the remainingingredients to make another serving.

Carbohydrates: 55g
Protein: 9g
Fat: 5g
Calories: 260

Frozen Banana Shake
Serves 1
1 large frozen banana
2/3 cup skim milk
6 ice cubes
1/2 cup nonfat frozen yogurt

Place everything in blender. Blend until smooth then serve.

(To freeze a banana, peel it and wrap it in plastic, freeze for at least 3 hours.)

Carbohydrates: 55g
Protein: 12g
Fat: Minimal (.5g)
Calories: 260

Coffee Shake
Serves 1
2/3 cup skim milk/soy milk
2 teaspoons instant coffee
1 teaspoon splenda/sugar
8 ice cubes
1/2 cup coffee frozen yogurt

Place everything in blender. Blend until smooth then serve.

Carbohydrates: 30g
Protein: 11g
Fat: 0g
Calories: 170
